Situated on the South coast of England, on the Eastern edge of the vibrant city of Brighton, the Marina is home to Brighton Marina Yacht Club (BMYC). Established in 1978 and with a thriving membership, the club welcomes sailors, divers and sea-lovers of all stripes.

Brighton Belle Sailing Club is fortunate in being able to use the BMYC clubhouse for our meetings, for which we are very grateful.

Formerly the Sail Training Association, the aims of the charity remain the same today as they always have – to enable the personal development of young people through the crewing of ocean-going vessels. The Trust’s fleet, Stavros S Niarchos, the Challenger Fleet and the Tall Ships Cat sail all year round and there is a broad choice of voyages available to anyone aged 12-80. From day sails to long weekends and two week voyages, there’s something for everyone.

Founded in 1954 by the late Humphrey Barton, the Ocean Cruising Club exists to promote long-distance cruising, in all its forms.

The people in the Ocean Cruising Club represent the distilled essence of the cruising community, a potent combination of accomplishment, experience, idealism, eccentricity, generosity and humility. The sole qualification for full membership, the only ticket to entry, entails stepping aboard your boat, casting off the docklines and making a continuous ocean passage of at least 1000 nautical miles, measured along the rhumb line, in a vessel under 70 feet.

It is open to anyone aboard, either as skipper or certified as competent by the skipper.
