Cruise
Brighton to Ipswich
This will be the first leg of this year's Round Great Britain summer tour. We shall leave Brighton Marina early on Saturday morning and turn left. The target for the first day is to reach the delightful port of Ramsgate. We shall sail past all those white cliffs, past Dungeness and Dover and into Ramsgate past the Goodwin Sands.
On Sunday we shall set off with the tide to get around North Foreland and set off across the Thames estuary to find a quiet anchorage in the flat landscape of the Blackwater river in Essex. On bank holiday Monday we will make our way up to the River Orwell and in as far as Ipswich centre, arriving in the evening for a visit to a local hostelry. Tuesday morning, tidy up the boat and leave her there for the next skipper and crew who will arrive on Saturday.
A short cruise but very interesting. I hope you can join us.
